I am sometimes asked what citizen scientists can do with CATT data.
I appreciate that it is not obvious if you are new to F-POD click train analysis and to many people a click train will be a new concept.
As we hope to attract new citizen scientists to this area of study, I have spent the break over the holiday adding case studies to the Citizen Science page on the website.
The case studies available are:
Assessing the whole file - F-POD data from St Martin's on the Isles of Scilly
Porpoise Behaviour - Harbour Porpoise Social Calls in F-POD data
Dolphin Behaviour - West Wales Dolphin click Frequencies in F-POD data
Edges of distribution - Fal River seasonal population changes
Porpoise click phonemes and phrases - Bristol Channel Aquaculture Farm Porpoises
WUTS - Weak Unknown Train Sources in F-POD data
Fish Tag Detections - a data validation example for F-POD data
Most of these studies are of interest to university students but if there are subject areas you would like to investigate with novice citizen scientists, please let us know how we can make it more accessible to you and your group.
